Mr. Choi is an attorney who currently focuses on the administrative and strategic aspects of intellectual property matters and supports patent/trademark prosecution and post-grant proceedings.

 

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Choi had extensive experience in managing multinational patent portfolios, conducting invalidity and infringement analysis in support of patent infringement litigation and patent license negotiation, and developing IP strategies for a Fortune Global 500 company in South Korea. His experience covered a wide range of technologies, including wireless technologies, such as mobile communications (e.g., 4G/5G), car connectivity (e.g., V2X), and the Internet of Things with short-range communications (e.g., Wi-Fi). In particular, he specialized in handling 4G/5G standard essential patents (SEPs). He also participated in a number of technical discussions as part of patent disputes against global top-tier telecommunication chip, network, and device vendors.

Mr. Choi earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Seoul National University and his LL.M. at George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School. He is admitted to the District of Columbia Bar and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (with limited recognition).
