Mr. Lestina concentrates his practice in Patent Law with a particular focus on patent preparation and prosecution.  He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and has extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications for various subsidiaries of Samsung.

Mr. Lestina has particular technical expertise in electrical engineering and semiconductor processing.  Mr. Lestina’s experience covers a variety of highly-technical subject matter, including flat panel display technology, semiconductor devices and fabrication, thin-film deposition, wireless communications, analog electronics, printers and copiers, ink-jet print heads and battery cells, battery catalysts and battery interconnects.

Mr. Lestina received a J.D. degree from SUNY at Buffalo School of Law in 1995.  Prior to that he completed a M.S. in electrical engineering with a Master’s Thesis at Cornell University, and a B.S. in electrical engineering summa cum laude at SUNY at Buffalo. 

Mr. Lestina has served as attorney for over 20 years with a small, boutique patent law firm in Washington, DC.  During this time, Mr. Lestina primarily focused on patent preparation and prosecution of Samsung cases in technology ranging from the electrical arts, to the material arts, mechanical arts and chemical arts.  Prior to going into law, Mr. Lestina served as a semiconductor process engineer. 

Mr. Lestina is admitted to the New York State bar as well as being registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
